Democracy Class
What is democracy and why do we still need it?
By using interactive games, group work and brainstorming exercises, students are given the opportunity to reflect on the many aspects of democracy and to communicate their thoughts and ideas to their classmates. The Democracy Tree exercise and the Prime Minister game (where students set a political agenda and compete for class votes) are ways in which we train students to understand where their own opportunities for co-influence lie.
We believe that engagement in the local community can lead to global changes, where collaboration and social justice go hand in hand. Therefore we equip students with knowledge of their innate rights and the tools to become active citizens in a globalized society.
In addition to our permanent staff of global facilitators, in 2023 we have entered into a collaboration with youth facilitators from e.g. Pakistan, Uganda and Nigeria. They work for youth organizations and take part in our online workshops. They also represent an opportunity for Danish schools to network with schools from e.g. the African continent.
Seen in the light of the war in Ukraine, which has now entered its second year, we also take a closer look at what happens when democracy fails, and what can we do in Denmark to prevent war and oppression.

Climate Emergency
A small action today can lead to big changes tomorrow
We often bring climate activists with us when we give this lecture, and other experts who know a lot about sustainability and the environment. They help to break down difficult and complex issues into manageable actions, so that all students can feel helpful in the fight for the climate. Of course, we also use tools such as debate, exercises, group work and interactive exercises to help students identify possible solutions themselves.
Our mission is to strengthen students' believe in their own potential, and make them embrace their influence as citizens of the world. Through dialogue, exercises and knowledge from our experts, they are equipped to deal with problems that directly affect them in their everyday life, but in a way that makes it both affordable to carry out and exciting to learn.
The climate and the major challenges facing humans have become a regular topic of conversation in society, and there is good reason for that. We have a lot to solve and not all solutions appear easy or achievable. That is why we have created the workshop. Everyone can help to create a more environmentally friendly future.

The importance of an inclusive and diverse feminist movement
Intersectional Feminism
The importance of an inclusive and diverse feminist movement
A presentation on the development of feminism is followed by examples of intersectionality in Denmark and how we can better protect women with different ethnicities and/or religious affiliations. We hold storytelling classes facilitated by women who have experienced gender discrimination on their own bodies. It allows students to experience up close how women experience being treated differently. We encourage all students (and teachers) to ask questions along the way to get the most out of the presentation.
We end the workshop with interactive exercises such as student presentations, debate and forum theater to train students to use their critical thinking when it comes to sexism and to help them use their voice in the fight against gender discrimination.
In Denmark, we have come a long way with equality, but we are not there yet. We must ensure that younger generations have the same opportunities and rights, regardless of gender and religious background. In the workshop, we examine many of the challenges affecting all kinds of women's rights.

Black Lives Matter
What does racism look like and how can we stop discrimination?
We then introduce group exercises where students have to write down some of the causes and consequences of racism on a global scale. We encourage everyone in the group to take part in presenting their work to the whole class afterwards, so they can share the experience and understand others' points of view better.
Our overall goal is to make students aware of this global problem, and help them to reflect on the extent of racism and why it is crucial for all of us that we learn to be respectful and open-minded citizens.
Finally, we ask the students to design and perform a social action. This could be: using their network to spread awareness about racism, making posters to hang up in the school grounds, starting a website or posting thought-provoking content on social media.
The purpose of the workshop is to explore the diverse expressions that racism has; to teach students how to identify racial discrimination when they encounter it in their everyday lives and, in addition, how they themselves can help prevent future discrimination.

Discover Copenhagen's Hidden Stories: A Unique Migrantour Experience!
Our experience begins with an introductory workshop reflecting on migration narratives and understanding migration in terms of agency and intercultural transformation. This session aims to broaden students' perspectives on migration, exploring the diverse experiences and contributions of migrants in our interconnected society.
Following the workshop, we'll dive into the main activity: the Migrantour Project. Launched in 2011 by the ACRA Foundation in Turin, Italy, this European initiative celebrates cultural diversity through intercultural walks led by migrants. Now in over 20 cities, including Barcelona, Brussels, and Lisbon, Migrantour empowers migrant communities and reshapes migration narratives by highlighting their contributions to local neighborhoods and cultural heritage.
The Copenhagen Migrantour lasts approximately 90 minutes, starting at Union (home to Crossing Borders) and includes stops at the DIA Arabic School, Queen Louise's Bridge, Blågårds Plads, and concludes at Folkets Park. This tour offers a unique perspective on our city, promoting an understanding of how migration has shaped Copenhagen's history and ongoing development.
We conclude at Union with interactive activities and engaged discussions, allowing participants to reflect on the tour and explore migration's historical and contemporary significance. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Nørrebro through fresh eyes and celebrate cultural diversity!

Fun with the SDG’s
A study of the UN's 17 global goals and their possibilities
The 17 global goals rank from topics such as education, equality, climate action, responsible consumption and production, so there is a good opportunity to find and put together topics that can meet the students' unique needs for education and information.
We offer a mixture of presentations and interactive exercises such as student presentations and debates to get really close to the chosen topics. With the workshop, we want to awaken students' understanding of the possibilities of the world goals as well as their joy in local social development, which in the long run can lead to global changes.
This is the perfect workshop for teachers who want greater breadth in the workshop, or would like to be more involved in the preparation of its content. This is where you, as a teacher, can really have an influence and choose the most relevant topics for your class.
Designed to inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning, our workshops cover a wide range of subjects and are tailored to meet the unique needs of your classroom.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to provide your students with an unforgettable learning experience!
