Migrantour Workshop
Target group: We offer this workshop to students of all ages. We will adapt the exercises and activities to the specific age group. Note that the tour and workshop will be in English.
Content: Embark on an eye-opening journey through Nørrebro that will challenge your perspectives on migration and cultural diversity. This engaging 4-hour program is designed specifically for classes and student groups, combining interactive workshops with a guided tour led by migrants themselves, and offering a unique perspective on our city.
Your experience begins with an introduction at Union Culture House reflecting on migration narratives and understanding migration in terms of agency and intercultural transformation. Following the introduction, we’ll dive into the main activity: the Migrantour Project. Launched in 2011 by the ACRA Foundation in Turin, Italy. This European initiative celebrates cultural diversity through intercultural walks led by migrants. Now in over 20 cities, including Barcelona, Brussels, and Lisbon, Migrantour empowers migrant communities and reshapes migration narratives by highlighting their contributions to local neighborhoods and cultural heritage. Read more about the Migrantour project here.
We conclude with a workshop at Union with interactive activities and engaged discussions, allowing participants to reflect on the tour and explore migration’s historical and contemporary significance. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Nørrebro through fresh eyes and celebrate cultural diversity!
