WHY INEQUALITY?

Inequality is one of the biggest issues in our contemporary society. Both internationally, as well as inside countries, the gap between rich and poor has grown dramatically in the past 50 years, even more so after the Covid-19 pandemic. The current differences in economic and social opportunities are a big problem that we need to tackle together, one step at a time.

UNDERSTANDING THE ISSUE TO COMBAT IT

Our workshops provide an understanding of the roots of the issue, and give space for collective ideation of practical actions against it. We address different types of inequality such as: wealth, income, social and opportunity inequality, while discussing how they are impacted by gender, racial and historical considerations. We also discuss the health and social problems that arise with increasing inequality. The workshops aim at creating a holistic understanding of the issue and the capacity to identify the structures that need to be addressed to combat it.

SMALL STEPS FOR BIG CHANGE

Where to take it from here? At Crossing Borders, we seek to empower youth to take small (and big) concrete steps towards the creation of a better society. A series of action-based and interactive exercises will enable the students to identify the issues, their cause, and how to address them taking into account their individual capacities.
